Many of us were always skeptical that this persona was real, considering their level of passion and obscurity. I figured that the only way to understand what was going on was to dig into it myself, and presented the result here as plainly as I could.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't taken by the story but, rationally, I knew there was still something deeper I didn't understand. As it turns out, I was digging into someone, but not the person I thought. That person underneath wasn't motivated by anything passionate or obscure.

I don't have interest in it.

Those familiar with things I've made on YouTube will know I am a fan of the Canadian television show Kenny vs Spenny. Each episode of the show is a competition between the two titular friends, with challenges like Who do old people like more? and First one to get a stain loses. The tone of Kenny vs Spenny itself is pretty crass, so many episodes feature peeing, poo, spitting, and farts. In fact, one of the most highly regarded episodes of the show is season four's Who can blow the biggest fart?.

I occasionally engage with the show through the r/kennyvsspenny subreddit, and one recent contributor to the subreddit caught my eye: u/No_Expert5248.

Initially, what got my attention was his comments defending another poster's interest in flatulence, which he shared.

I was not alone. Seeing that the topic was some sort of interesting to the rest of the subreddit, u/No_Expert5248 was motivated to quantify & plot the farts he observed in the show. He considered factors like smell and aroma, whether they were putrid or pleasant, and the kinds of foods that motivated the farts in the first place.

I became very curious what was coming next, whether he was sincere, and what his motivations were. I was lucky enough to chat with him for about an hour, which is included below.

first, can you tell me (generally) about yourself: where do you live, what do you do, how old you are, and so on?
NE: Well I will simply say I live in Poland, I was born here, but been to most parts of most continents either with family as a child or more recent with band. Lately I've been actually making my living playing with them mostly just in my city though we have picked up attention elsewhere which has been big surprise.

I am 21, birthday in summer. I used to work operating a marketplace in city which was well doing but not at all what I love. I actually play piano before we talk, is what I wanted extra time for. It relaxes me more than anything

is piano what you play in your band?
Mostly acoustic guitar actually but I bought piano recently to get better at this thing, I am now finding to prefer it



as far as music, movies, or tv, what are some of your favorites?
NE: I think is most common to have lots of favorite from US so that is most where my influence come from. Music would be acts like Animal Collective, Phosphorescent, but mostly what classic rocks like The Who, The Doors, Abba, and of course Beatles. We play mostly US musics but our original songs we do in Polish for locals get much good attentions. Movies I actually enjoy Kanal which was made in my country but once more I prefer Hollywood films. Usually comedies for sure

what are some of your favorite comedies?
NE: Tenacious D Pick of Destiny is my favorite comedy film

i am curious what some of your favorite beatles songs are, or if you have a favorite beatle
NE: I am John Lennon fan most of all. Ringo close. Only because his song make me smile more. But I like poetry of John. I guess Beatles songs got me reading English first. A song like I Am The Walrus is so interesting to someone who has not lived with the English language

In honest. I watch all Get Back movie. Ringo is close favorite because he farted in camera and even say "I've farted". Before this I like George more LOL

do you have any other movies or TV shows that you're a fan of?
NE: Oh yes well I enjoy animations like with Mike Judge almost most things by him, Jackass movies, Borat, I am big fan of pranks in films. Bad Trip more recent one I really enjoy

Tv Shows. Well Kenny vs Spenny obvious. There was another Canadian cartoon show I saw as child I never seen before of again, it was called something like Yvon of the Yukon. Had much humors I appreciate as well. And I enjoy the stand up comedy


do you have a favorite stand up comedian?
NE: Well. Is controversy. Louis CK. I not like what he do many years ago but I always believed people change as age. Bill Hicks is legend. But I find Louis funnier

i agree. so, on the topic of KvS, how did you find the show?
NE: Well as a 11 year old, I was spending many times on YouTube searching for what I had always had not odd I would say unique interest which I am sure you know about.

I was searching for fart videos and I naturally come across full episode of Who Can Blow the Biggest Fart on Kenny channel. I think it was brand new video at this time. I watch and went crazy laughing when I saw what I watch which wasn't like any show I have seen in my life as child. Since then I watch at least once every year

do you watch that episode every year, or the whole series?
NE: Whole series. But that episode more than most others

other than the fart episode, what are some of your favorites?
NE: Well in honest at first I went through lots of episodes but am disappointed when I see only about farts. Then my dad start watching more of his own time actually. He tell me I would like whole show if I give it chance. So we start watching after my school every day

Now while my favourite still fart one, I love Commit Crimes, Meat episode. The season 1 episodes are enjoyable but I much prefer crazier shows. Like the Who Can show was so bizarre it makes me laugh so hard. Who can Imitate has very funny moments but I see this is most favorite which is odd to me. Kenny just upload 4K of Octopus and I forget how funny this thing is

hm, what's odd to you about imitate being a favorite? why do you feel it doesn't deserve that?
NE: Well I enjoy physical jokes and farts but Kenny eating the poo always make me skip. Its good episode but Fart is just better


are you sensitive to the poo stuff in the show?
NE: I am actually not so much. But I am very familiar with smells so when I see eating it I know too well what that must be like and I want to puke

obviously i do want to talk about the fart aspect. having seen the series a few times, how would you compare kenny and spenny's farts in general?
NE: Spenny has what looks of a very sad diet. He not good cook. I have always imagined him to smell what old man who eats very simple poor cooked foods after wife deceased

Then Kenny who cooks and eats well would have more distunct robust notes. This is basis of my chart. Spenny would be too easy because he just eat things like not season beef patty with pickle. Very sad


in the fart episode, they use the methane meter to measure the farts. what do you think about that? could they have chosen a better method?
NE: Yes I have always wished for one

Well size of farts is not same as smell. This also parts of why my chart has been difficult task. They chose best method for size I believe. It would not be best for anything else than size though

so you think that the methane content doesn't correlate to smell much at all
NE: Well it would yes, as Kenny air farts would most likely only smell of colon matter so like in honest poo most likely. But real fart have methane so yes I suppose it affects but not to certain degree

a big question for KvS fans is often what competitions you wish K or S had done. do you have any ideas about that? related to farts or not
NE: Yes. You sorts of said this thing but I would have like to see more depths in fart competition. In honest who can make most smelly fart would have been really enjoy

But aside from this thing there would be many for me to say. Like most fan of the show. Kenny has mention more less weird ones as old men like Knit Sweaters and at first I think this silly but thinking more on it this thing would perhaps be very funny

do you have an idea for how they would judge the smelliest fart?
NE: They would need judge for this. Someone like myself preferred

NE: In honest I would be, I know of nobody who knows more of these things than me. But that is perhaps because it is seen as embarrassment to many

i've tried to count the farts in each episode before, and sometimes it's hard. for example, when spenny is shitting into his diaper in "who can keep a dump in their pants the longest", or sometimes when kenny is on the toilet, you hear something like a fart but you are not sure if it's one or many. how would you count that?
NE: I actually counted all them when I was teen! Very recently however I bring to my attention fake farts placed in show. I forget the number I count but it would not be accurate now anyhow. Unfortunate I don't believe you can accurately count this thing with knowledge of this. But many farts quickly in succession would count as one, is my belief

i do want to talk about the fake farts thing- i saw your reddit post about that. obviously if you've seen my videos, im interested as well in which things in the show are real or fake. how much does it bother you that some of them may not be real?
NE: Not much to make me not like series at all. But it is only disappoint as I enjoy this thing. In honest I do not believe many thing is fake in series but who knows. Fake fart is not equal to scripts. I don't believe there were fake in fart show


in the example you pointed out, it's possible that maybe there was a fart there but it was silent, so to make the joke work for a tv audience, they placed a fake fart. do you think that's reasonable?
NE: I think that is interesting. I will need to think about this thing. First thought is yes is reasonable

or maybe, kenny is making the fart noise live in that moment, and he never meant it to be taken as a real fart, just a little joke like he does sometimes
NE: That is what he do with Goldfield

right! i find this interesting. speaking of the fart episode, one of most famous moments of the show is kenny's fart on the stairs. how do you feel about that, considering it's not caused by anything in his diet?
NE: Well we know this from the start. So its good. You can see wetness appear on his pyjama. So I find this interesting


i was wondering, are there any other shows or movies where you do this kind of analysis or think about this at all?
NE: Well my dad and I actually bond very much through this show as this is how we find both of us enjoy these things. So I mostly do this thing only with this show. Other series are not real so neither are the farts as well

NE: Yes. Could we speak of my dad a little more?

NE: Him and my mom die last year in car accident so I just like to say he is the reason for my fascination with farts. My mom thought this thing we share was funny, they were both so wonderful

My dad would take me to market to get different foods and see how it affects our own smells. This is why I am so knowing if these things. Actually now this charts and doing for the show make me feel close to him

He liked European programming so Kenny Vs Spenny was only show we could enjoy together

NE: Actually he owned market. Market I took over before music

how do you feel about people reading this and thinking it's a joke, or that you're weird, or whatever? does that bother you?
NE: It does not bother me much people who hate or think is joke or I'm autistic. The people who support make more than up for all of this
